Clear Source

On a recent trip to Oklahoma I noticed how brown and murky the Arkansas River appears as it makes its way through the plains. It’s amazing to think that this is the same crystal, clear river that I can drink from when I’m hiking in Colorado. The reason of course is that the closer a river is to its source, the clearer it is.

We experience the same thing in our walk with the Lord. As we draw closer to our source, Jesus Christ, what flows from us will be a clear and refreshing stream to those around us. The further we drift away from Him, the murkier and more unsettled life becomes.

You know, the Christian life is meant to be one of total dependence upon Jesus Christ…the fountain of living water! Depend on Him. Draw close to Him and you’ll be a clear example of His life within you.
