Golf is an extremely difficult game. The last time I played, I spent more time amongst the trees hunting my ball than in the fairway. Have you ever heard what Hank Aaron said about golf? "It took me seventeen years to get 3,000 hits in baseball. I did it in one afternoon on the golf course."
I'm constantly perplexed with the skill of the PGA Tour players. Did you watch any of the Master's Tournament last weekend? Or maybe like me you just saw some of the highlights, such as Vijay Singh skipping his ball across the water and getting a hole-in-one during one of the practice rounds.
That was ridiculous!
Yet, even the pros have a difficult time hitting every shot at their full potential. An incredible shot can easily be followed by a dud. Do you ever feel that way in your Christian walk? Some days you're up, and some days you're down. One day you're walking in the Spirit, and the next day you're walking after the flesh. Is that how God intended the Christian life to be lived?
As Bill illustrates in this week's Lifetime Weekly article Accessing the Full Potential, many Christians do not access the full potential of their Christian life. God never intended the Christian life to be a burden or a roller coaster ride of ups and downs.
