Flesh is Flesh

I know a Christian who walked after the flesh, and as a result, lost his job. I know another Christian who walked after the flesh, and because of it is getting a promotion!

The Bible talks about flesh and how Christians can walk in it, instead of in the Spirit. Walking after the flesh is living independently of God, and it doesn’t matter if the world rewards or punishes it. If it’s flesh, it’s sin. Flesh is flesh no matter how good it looks. And let’s face it: Promotions are not what life is about. Life is about pleasing God.

You can learn to walk in the Spirit, but it takes practice. God in His love and grace wants to reveal our fleshly patterns to us. And even if the world thinks it’s OK, we must abandon the flesh and depend on Him.
