Peace

I need peace. There are times when turbulence fills my world and my emotions are like an elevator . . . up and down, up and down, up and down . . .. What must I do? How can I grasp this elusive peace?

There is one prerequisite: I must be discerning about the thoughts that Iallow to run around in my mind. I must be alert to thoughts that confuse me or cause me to doubt. I must reject discouraging thoughts, deceptivethoughts, worrisome thoughts, and force myself to "think on these things."

Deuteronomy 31:8
And the Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear, or be dismayed.

Isaiah 54:10
"For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken" says the Lord who has compassion on you.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you. Not as the world gives, do I give you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

My heart has been extremely troubled, Lord--but You know that, don't You?

Can I follow You? Can I let You lead?
Can I realize and recognize Your presence with me no matter where I am?
Can I envision myself wrapped in Your love, enveloped in Your kindness, and covered by Your compassion?
Can I set my mind on this peace that cannot be shaken?
Can I accept the peace that You gave me?

His has prepared a covenant of peace. Is that available to me? Was He talking to me? Am I included in that exchange of words? His covenant ofpeace must be conditional, and I obviously must meet those conditions. What must I do? I have to "think on these things." And it isn't a peace that promises emotional calmness. It's a peace that gives me mental stability which--if I stay my mind there--will bring about in due time, a measure of emotional stability, though I must remember that I cannot consistently control my emotions. So, what is Your answer for my need?

Anabel, the peace you seek for your troubled soul is yours for the taking. See? It is in My hand. Reach out . . ..

DO I BELIEVE HIM?
PEACE FLOODS MY TROUBLED SOUL
AS I WHISPER, "YES."
