But you know what? God is self-centered. He loves the spotlight.
You might be thinking, "Hold on there! My God is not selfish. My God humbled Himself and gave Himself on the cross." Yes, and why did He do it? So that you could find pleasure and joy...in Him. It's all about Him. As it should be. Isaiah 42:8 says, "I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another..."
It's important to understand your true identity (and we emphasize that truth a lot at Lifetime Guarantee Ministries), but it's even more important to understand God's true identity. He was before everything and He is above everything. At the sound of His voice, the stars took their place in the sky.
God loves the spotlight, and we need Him there.
We were not made to be in control. We were not designed to run things. That's God's job. When we get that mixed up, our life's headed for trouble.
