Graduating Servants

The university president offered his summary thoughts at graduation. To everyone’s surprise he asserted that leaders were actually servants. The president’s words are not unlike those spoken at another commissioning. Jesus told His disciples, “The greatest leader will be a servant to all.”

Servant-leadership: Though it stands apart from the world’s system of management, it is the only method of leadership that Christ endorsed. Thankfully, Jesus didn’t just talk about servant-leadership; He demonstrated it, and through His life He provides the resource for us to lead as He led.

Admittedly, servant-leadership goes against the grain of society, but it works in.
