Guard & Fight

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
– John 8:44

Do you realize that Satan, the Deceiver, is completely unethical, totally evil, incapable of telling the truth, and unbelievably cruel — and that he will hit you the hardest when you are down?

Do you realize that when you are under stress, when you are not at your best emotionally or physically — you’re tired and don’t feel well — this is when he will initiate his most diabolical schemes in your life?

Are you just a tad apprehensive about this?

Well, what do you do?

Most importantly, you don’t listen to the lies he whispers to you, the thoughts of failure, bitterness, rejection, hurt — whatever they might be. Remember, he gives you those thoughts with first-person, singular pronouns — you will think they are your very own thoughts! No, they aren’t.

You must be alert to Satans devious methods.
Guard the entrance to your mind.
Carefully examine every thought that comes.
Control your thought-life.
Exert force.
Say “NO! I refuse that thought.”

Fix your thoughts on what is good and true and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.
– Philippians 4:8 TLB

You don’t think you can do that?

You are so right.

Neither can I.

We can’t. You can’t.

But you can (even though your system may be all messed up) when you remember where your strength comes from, because His victory is your victory.

Difficult? Very.

Your choice? Yes.

Results? Victory or defeat…depending on your choice.

Fight, dear one, fight.
