Leaving It Up to God

Regardless of the topic, one thing has always been true of my letters to you: They are honest. This letter is no exception, and I need you to read it closely.

I have served at Lifetime Guarantee for thirty years. While part of my job has been visible'speaking, writing to you, traveling'a great deal of it has been behind the scenes as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

You have trusted me to speak to you about intensely personal and deeply spiritual subjects. You have entrusted to me the investment of your money in meaningful ministry. You have depended upon me to manage the organization effectively and to see to it that LGI represented you and Father admirably. Thank you. I ask you to trust me again…in the lines that follow.

Father has made it clear that He has another place for me. I don't know what that is yet, but that is neither here nor there. What is important now, and what I want to convey to you with the utmost confidence, is that Lifetime is in good order'from the Bookkeeper to the Board. My departure is my choosing. There is no crisis, no problem, and no cause for alarm. Quite the contrary.

Andy Knight ministered through LGI's website, lifetime.org, for six years before moving to Atlanta to be closer to family. He is returning as Executive Director. I am thrilled. Andy is not only the man of God's choosing, he is also the man of my choosing, and the man of our Board's choosing. As you read his letters and are exposed to his great heart for ministry and to know Father better, you are going to be thrilled as well.

So, this is my last letter to you. That is a hard line to write, but it is a line filled with conviction and confidence; confidence that this is Father's plan and confidence in my dear friend, Andy.

You can trust Andy. He is surrounded by great people with a deep love for you, for Father, and for Lifetime. Andy is a good writer. Listen to him. His words and structures will be different from mine, granted. But his heart is bonded to the same One as mine and as yours. Grow with him as you have grown me.

Andy is a great technologist. You will benefit from Father's gifting of him in this capacity as he guides our web development team and enables the message of Lifetime to penetrate deeper and deeper into the hearts and minds of people all over the world, including yours. Without reservation I endorse Andy and encourage you to embrace his leadership and trust his spiritual sensibility.

Andy is not perfect…but neither am I. You have loved me, prayed for me, and walked with me on the journey with Father. The gift of your love, prayer, and hand for the journey will be a great gift to Andy as well. I encourage you to extend it, just as you have to me.

In good times and tough times'like these uncertain days'you have consistently looked to me and to the LGI Board to manage your financial investments in the outreach of LGI. There is no good reason for you to stop now, certainly not because I am leaving. If anything, there is every good reason for you to enthusiastically contribute to LGI. The future for LGI's ministry is stunningly optimistic. Please continue to give. I know the economic situation is difficult, but Father has promised to take care of our needs. I don't know how, but He has promised. Believe Him. Trust Him. If you are not a financial participant, now is a great time to join the team.

I have not said much about it over the years, but leading LGI is a tough job. We are making a profound difference. The spiritual warfare surrounding the leader of the organization is formidable. The last thing Satan wants is for Believers to understand their true identity in Christ, comprehend the magnificence of their regenerate heart to bond with God's heart, and to embrace their Heavenly Father with the sheer abandon of those loved obsessively by Him who is love. Pray for Andy. He is stepping into the midst of the battle. Pray for the Board. Pray for the staff. Love them as you have loved me.

Friend, thank you for reading my letters. I have filled them with my heart. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for trusting me. Pray for me and for Dianne, my dear wife. We are embarking on a new journey. The confidence of your prayers will nourish our souls for the adventure that lies ahead.

With all my love,

Preston Gillham

PS Don’t focus on the end. Focus on the beginning. Father is fueling a new day, and it is before you now.
