Voices From the Past

As I was listening to the radio the other day I heard Winston Churchill discussing some current events, which is odd. Churchill has been dead since 1965. Of course, it wasn’t the old bulldog at all… just an impersonator doing a good acting job.

Do you know who the greatest impersonator in the world is? It’s the Power of Sin! In Romans 7 Paul tells us about this power and its ability to entice us toward sinning by tempting us with desires of the past. But you are no longer obligated to serve the Power of Sin. You are free to reject his temptations and focus your mind on Christ.

Churchill himself said that a soldier is best equipped by knowing his enemy, and as Christians we’ll be better equipped when we know the source of temptation and the way he works in the battle for our mind.
